At first glance, this Chanel ring is a fun and whimsical addition to any outfit. However, this ring holds much greater meaning than what is on the surface. Given to me as a gift by my grandma, this ring symbolizes both our love for each other and my first taste of designer fashion. I have loved Chanel since the day I first learned about Coco and Karl. But as a 24 year old student, high end luxury is not something I can necessarily afford. This piece of costume jewelry gave me a little taste of high fashion, and the life I strive to live. My ring is a symbol of the path I was destined to take and my love for the fashion industry. I thank my grandma for giving me the key to my future, and Chanel for being forever fabulous!
Although my typical outfit is similar to a Bloomies uniform, I decided to add a pop of color today for my interview. This Club Monaco silk scarf is a must have for people like me who need accent pieces to spice up their wardrobe. Luckily interview apparel no longer has to be drab, especially in the fashion industry. I was able to rock my many black and gold rings, as well as a stretch pant and booties. I guess my take on the new interview style worked because I got the job ;) One of my favourite new discoveries (yes, I'm aware its not new) is Polyvore. As a fashion addict, this site allows me to not only shop, but put together collections of my favourite pieces. Recently I have become a bit jewelry crazed, especially with all things black and gold. Although many of the pieces are only on my wish list, I feel its always good to have something to strive towards. Some of the more moderate costume jewelry brands I've been shopping are: Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Henri Bendel, Vince Camuto and House of Harlow. All of these brands offer fashionable pieces at a moderate price. For more information on the specific "bobbles" below, check out my Polyvore account: http://brittanywass.polyvore.com
A saying coined by the Brits is one I will always admire: give it a go. Much more encouraging than some of the more popular American expressions for trying something new, this one really clicked with me. With my first blog post ever, I am "giving it a go" myself by doing something completely new and foreign to me. I have always admired those who are brave enough to put their words out there for the world to see. However, this admiration has never given me courage enough to attempt the task myself. By putting this in writing, I am hoping to solidify my commitment to doing something new in my life, blog. Keep checking back, as I promise to publish exciting fashion content, as well as ineresting stories from my daily life!
