As I’ve expressed before, I have a big weakness for monochromatic looks. And, if you couldn’t tell from the photos, I’m really feeling the blues today. Known to many as the Canadian tuxedo, I am sporting a denim look with my Zara shirt and Paige jeans. All together this outfit takes on two big trends of the past few seasons (monochromatic and denim-on-denim) to make for a flattering and stylish look. Next time you’re getting dressed, experiment with your color palette. You might just surprise yourself with an awesome, and unexpected, monochromatic outfit!

Although Valentine’s Day is a complete Hallmark Holiday, it is also an excuse to spend time with loved ones and show them how much you care (vomit slightly). This year, I was lucky enough to spend it with two incredibly handsome and talented men: my boyfriend and Justin Timberlake. Even though Valentine’s Day is super cheese for the most part, it was a great opportunity to add some romance to my relationship, and more importantly, to see JT live in action. For anyone who has yet to see their teenage heartthrob take the stage solo, I highly suggest investing in an upcoming show. In regards to the rest of my Valentine’s Day, I spent it with a glass of wine and a beautiful vintage red YSL bag handed down to me by my Grandma….who knew raiding her kitchen cupboards would result in such treasure!
As a lover of fashion, I always want my boyfriend to look good. But shopping for him doesn't necessarily mean there is no benefit for myself. For years now, menswear inspired womenswear has been seen on the runways and in the streets. And now, conquering this style can be made even easier by "borrowing" from your significant other. This simple concept will allow you to sport the hottest trends, without of purchasing a whole new wardrobe for yourself. Everyone knows that being a fashionista on a budget isn't easy, but doubling your wardrobe, in this case, will cost you nothing. My simple trick to keeping the look feminine is a pair of leather leggings and a heeled bootie. As long as one womanly feature is emphasized, your menswear pieces will look edgy and chic, without overpowering your figure. All of the mens clothing above is from Rag & Bone and can be found on their website. The accessories are from a selection of designers found on saks.com. And lastly, the leather leggings are by Helmut Lang.
At first glance, this Chanel ring is a fun and whimsical addition to any outfit. However, this ring holds much greater meaning than what is on the surface. Given to me as a gift by my grandma, this ring symbolizes both our love for each other and my first taste of designer fashion. I have loved Chanel since the day I first learned about Coco and Karl. But as a 24 year old student, high end luxury is not something I can necessarily afford. This piece of costume jewelry gave me a little taste of high fashion, and the life I strive to live. My ring is a symbol of the path I was destined to take and my love for the fashion industry. I thank my grandma for giving me the key to my future, and Chanel for being forever fabulous! One of my favourite new discoveries (yes, I'm aware its not new) is Polyvore. As a fashion addict, this site allows me to not only shop, but put together collections of my favourite pieces. Recently I have become a bit jewelry crazed, especially with all things black and gold. Although many of the pieces are only on my wish list, I feel its always good to have something to strive towards. Some of the more moderate costume jewelry brands I've been shopping are: Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Henri Bendel, Vince Camuto and House of Harlow. All of these brands offer fashionable pieces at a moderate price. For more information on the specific "bobbles" below, check out my Polyvore account: http://brittanywass.polyvore.com
